As someone who goes to the gym and likes to get a decent amount of protein intake, I’ve always used some kind of protein powder.

As the years have gone by I have been more interested in using plant based protein powders.

It lead me to now, where I am doing multiple plant-based protein reviews to see what powders are the best out there.

Today I will be reviewing Plantfusion, cookies and cream protein powder and I have quite a lot of nice things to say.

But first…

Lets have a look at the things that make a great plant based powder.

Is it made from natural ingredients?

Preferably a product that is organic and made with fruits and vegetables rather than artificial junk.

Can you pronounce all the ingredients on the label?

You want a ingredients label to be easy to understand, simple and full of items that you know or have heard of.

What kind of tests were run on the product to prove label accuracy
and ingredient purity?

For example tests for heavy metals, banned substances in sports, gluten, GMO etc.

What kind of independent quality certifications does the product
have?

Is it USDA Organic, non-GMO, Vegan etc?

How does it taste?

If you’re anything like me you want a powder that is at least drinkable and you get some kind of joy out of it.

Taste is important otherwise we wouldn’t love eating and drinking so much. Right?

So find a flavour that suits you and is still giving you fantastic health benefits!

How Does Plantfusion Protein Powder Taste?

As I said before the taste is obviously the most important bit and this did not disappoint.

When I tried this I used it in a shake, smoothie, and porridge.

In shake I mixed unsweetened almond milk with it.

The flavor was lovely!

It was sweet, creamy, and tastes just like it said it would. As you’re probably aware some powders will say a flavor and then end up tasting like cardboard. But this one definitely had a delicious cookies and cream taste to it.

When I mixed with frozen banana and berries in a smoothie it also tasted great. Sometimes the others things can drown out the taste but even in a smoothie it tasted delicious.

Lastly I mixed in with porridge and again I thought it tasted sooo nice. It had a loverly sweet taste without being overpowering.

I love the cookies and cream taste of this Plantfusion flavor.

I would put this up there as one of the best powders I’ve tested recently and will be using it again. I liked the fact that it tasted naturally sweet and didn’t leave a fake sickly aftertaste.

The Things I Liked About Plantfusion Protein Powder

There are so many positives to this powder I don’t actually know where to begin! I mentioned before about the great taste and definitely is one of the best ones I’ve tasted.

But not only does it taste good it has a lot of benefits when using it.

As it’s a protein powder I’m sure you’re interested in the protein content.

It has 21g protein per serving which is quite a decent amount to have, I aim for about 25g per serving but since I like this one so much I’ll let that slide!

Normally in a tub, you get roughly about 20 servings per tub but this one has 30 servings per tub which makes it quite good value for money compared to others.

There’s the added bonus of it being vegan, dairy and soy-free, keto-friendly, and non-GMO. That to me shows a great brand that cares about different lifestyles, beliefs, and allergies.

Also, it’s 120 calories per serving, which is pretty good if you’re counting calories and keeping an eye on your weight.

If you’re on a diet, it’ll be a nice little treat to have one of these delicious shakes without the side order of guilt!

The Things They Could Have Done Better

To be honest with you I couldn’t really find anything negative to say.

The one thing I could think of is the fact that the product isn’t 100% organic. But even that isn’t a complete negative as some of the product is in fact organic.

I think it would have just made a pretty good product perfect.

It just proves to you that I really enjoyed this powder and am finding it hard for something to dislike!

The ingredients list isn’t actually that long compared to others which I think can be a positive as it’s not packed with unnecessary rubbish.

It also says on the tub that it contains no dairy, wheat, gluten, eggs, peanuts, soy, tree nuts, fish, shellfish, preservatives, artificial colors or flavors which covers most allergies which means it would be a great product for someone certian intolerances.

What kind of tests were run on the product to prove label accuracy and ingredient purity?

Plantfusion test for things such as heavy metals to ensure safety.

Here’s what they say about heavy metal testing on their website:

Yes, we do indeed do third party testing on all our PlantFusion products. There’s been a whole lot of attention lately on heavy metals in nutritional supplements. Particularly those products on the market containing brown rice and/or brown rice syrup. In the early development of PlantFusion, we found through our own research and testing that brown rice protein typically had levels of certain heavy metals (namely lead, arsenic and cadmium) that were many times higher than our other plant protein sources. Because of this, and a few other factors, we opted to take brown rice out of all of our formulas and continue to test for heavy metals within our products to ensure safety and efficacy.

They also say this about their certifications:

All PlantFusion products are produced in a facility that has been certified as being compliant with all Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) by NSF International, a world leader in third party audits and certifications, and the Natural Products Association. In addition, PlantFusion is certified as being Non-GMO through the Non-GMO Project and Gluten Free through the Gluten Free Certification Organization.

Overall it looks like PlantFusion really cares about using the very best wholefood ingredients and pride themselves on their products.

What’s The Price And Where The Best Place To Buy Plantfusion Powder?

When I purchased Plantfusion protein powder the price in the USA (Amazon) was $39.99 which works out at $1.33 per serving.

In the UK (Amazon) the price was £49.49 which works out at £1.64 per serving. This is a bit more expensive than the US price as it needs to be shipped from the USA.

On the Plantfusion website the price came to $45.99 which is $1.53 per serving. They have an offer on the website at the moment where you’ll get 15% off if you subscribe to the website making the price $39.09.

This was for the cookies and cream 2lb/ 900g tub.

I did a review of 15 vegan protein powders and comparing price per serving to the others this is actually one of the cheaper vegan protein powders in the US, I think it’s totally worth it!

Even for UK the price is pretty much mid range, so if you can get it I would say it’s worth getting.

In terms of where to buy, Amazon it’s probably the best option as the price is cheapest if you don’t subscribe to a monthly subscription.

Prices change all the time and the prices mentioned above are when I looked so they could be different tomorrow. It’s always best to check a few places to see what the best price available is.

Conclusion

What more can I say about this protein powder.

I loved it!

It’s got such a delicious taste and has so many benefits for your health, muscle repair and is a great energy source.

Obviously this is my personal opinion and everyone has their own but I think it’s a great product and definitely worth the money.

I 100% have tried all the products I review and this by far was one of my favorites. I’ve even emptied out the tub!

That a pretty good sign!
