Before I decided to switch to a plant-based diet I took Omega fish oil. After switching to a plant-based protein about 18 months ago I’ve now decided to supplement with plant-based Omega 3.

That lead me to try the Omega 3 you will read about in this review.

There’s so many choices out there and some being better than others. Being better in my eyes is usually how the product is made.

In this post, I’ll give you everything you need to make an informed choice whether this Vivo Life Omega 3 is for you or now.

Just so you know,

I have used many other products by the Vivo Life brand meaning it’s not just another review site that hasn’t used the product they are reviewing.

Having said that this review will be honest and you’ll have a good idea about this product by the end of this review.

3 Key Questions About Vivo Life Omega 3

What Does It Taste Like?

Surprisingly, it tastes pretty good.

I don’t know what I expected it to taste like when I got it. Because it’s natural lemon flavor I expected it to be really citrusy.

It tastes a little oily, a bit like olive oil would taste like, and it has nice aroma of lemon with a slight hint of lemon on your taste buds.

So simply put, it just tastes a little oily with an aroma of lemon.

I don’t mind the taste, in fact, I actually like it. Just don’t expect it to taste really strongly of lemon.

Is There Anything Bad?

I really gave this a hard thought to think of anything that I would say is bad about this product.

There really isn’t.

Vivo Life is a great company which strives to source the best sustainable ingredients for their products that are heavy metal and contaminant free.

I could only say something that could be better but not necessarily bad.

They are:

  • I wish it was a little cheaper (currently $30.58 / £21.87 per one 30 day bottle)
  • I would have preferred softgels

So regarding those points,

The first being price.

Who doesn’t want anything cheaper? In reality though, you’re always going to pay a little extra for premium products, and personally I’d rather take something for my health that I knew was the best for me.

Still though with that said it’s not the most expensive vegan Omega 3 on the market, it’s just not the cheapest either.

The second point was it being a dropper and not softgels.

This is showing the bottle of Vivo Life Omega 3 with dropper

This vegan omega 3 comes in a bottle that you use a dropper to take. Each drop from the dropper is 1ml and you need to take 2ml’s.

So 2 drops per day.

This isn’t the worst thing ever, I just would prefer softgels for ease of use.

Apart from those 2 things, there’s nothing I can say about this product that I would consider a bad.

Overall it’s a great product.

How Vivo Life Omega 3 Is Made

Vivo Life plant-based Omega 3 is made from Algae. Most Omega 3’s are made from fish.

It works like this.

The algae is eaten by small crustaceans such as krill which is a shrimp-like fish. The krill are then eaten by fish. The fish are then caught and killed to make omega 3 supplements.

Essentially you are getting the Omega 3 THIRD HAND.

Whether you’ve Vegan or not it makes so much sense to get your Omega 3 in its PUREST form. Straight from Algae.

Consuming omega 3 from algae is the best form of omega 3 available.

The reason it’s the purest is that most fish contain harmful levels of heavy metals and other contaminants due to ocean pollution.

The good thing I found out about Vivo Life is they grow their own omega 3 in controlled environments that are free from pollution, and are third party tested for heavy metals, PCBs, dioxins and other harmful contaminants.

This way you are getting the purest Omega 3 that you can.

What Others Say About Vivo Life Products

Vivo Life does have a great reputation with lots of positive reviews as you can see here on Trustpilot.

Overall 5 stars rating. Meaning many happy customers.

That’s why I’ve used Vivo Life products for so long because they really do create great plant-based products that are made with your health in mind.

They also care about the planet as well as you 🙂

Verdict

This is a great tasting Omega 3 supplement that is made with your health in mind.

The high level of Omega 3 Fatty Acids per serving 1100mg (300mg EPA & 600mg DHA) combined with the fact they grow their own Algae to create a pure uncontaminated plant-based Omega 3 make this a great choice.

It’s hard to find any fault with it.

The only thing like I said before would have been a little better if it was softgels but that doesn’t take away it’s still a high quality product.

If you want a pure form of Omega 3 then this is for you.

Hi, I had a question about Vivolife plant based omega 3. I have been taking it for about 2 weeks now and have kept it in the fridge since I opened it. I noticed today that it looks different and wondered if it happened to you? It seems to have kind of solidified- I wondered if this was normal or if it’s gone ‘off’ somehow? Did your omega 3 do the same?
Thanks

Hi there! Mine hasn’t done that but I’ve just kept mine in a cupboard, it might have happened to yours because it’s been in the fridge. Sorry I can’t help you more than that but it might be worth messaging Vivolife and asking them if it affects the Omega 3 by being in the fridge. Thanks 🙂
